Nicholas Weaver Cycles 838 Miles For Help The Heroes

Nicholas Weaver is taking part in a bike ride on July 1st by cycling 838 miles from John O’Groats to lands end Nicholas also plans to compleat this in only 14 days, to raise money on behalf of Help For Heroes a charity set up to help service men and women of the armed forces returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Nicholas Weaver says:

I’m aiming to raise £100,000 so it’s going to take a lot of hard work so if its possible for you to help it would make a huge difference to my fundraising goal and to the men and women of the armed forces that risk there lives every day, ordinary people like me and you some left with life long injures. To give my fund-raising a kick-start and to spread the news of my event I’m giving £0.02 for each person that likes my Facebook Page doesn’t sound like much but I hope to reach 50,000 and that will raise £1,000

Last year my cousin was in a near fatal car accident and broke nearly all of the bones in his body, he was sent to Queen Elizabeth hospital in Selly oak. While he was there he spent some time next to the ward where they treat injured soldiers, while visiting my cousin I meet and spoke to a few of the soldiers and there stories and positive attitudes even after their ordeal really touched my heart also my aunt works at the hospital and often tells me heroic stories some of the soldiers have told her.

I don’t have the courage or the guts of the men and women that risk there lives every day for our country, but this doesn’t mean I can’t do my bit to help, I’m fit an active and enjoy a challenge, this is something I have thought about for a while and to achieve this would be a dream come true and a great sense of pride to know I have done my bit.
