Since Tamworth Ladies’ Choir formation in 1990, concerts have been held with a variety of choirs, artists and musical groups. The Neath Male Voice Choir has been twinned with Tamworth Ladies’ Choir since 1996. During the past 12 years numerous concerts have been staged both in South Wales and here in Tamworth. The Tamworth Ladies’ Choir were also invited to sing with the award-winning Treverva Male Voice Choir from Cornwall.
Recently Treverva Male Voice Choir made a visit to Tamworth with an outstanding performance in St. Editha’s Parish Church. The Tamworth Ladies’ Choir received a very warm reception from the Holman-Climax Male Voice Choir. Naturally, The Ladies’ Choir have joined the Tamworth Male Voice Choir in raising funds for various charities Saturday 26th March 2011, some fine songs were performed by The Tamworth Ladies’ Choir

I spent a pretty hectic Saturday, 26th March 2011, driving all over the shop to see relatives during daylight hours, then squeezing in a visit to St. Editha’s Parish Church in Tamworth in the Evening. I’m up before Dawn on Sunday 27th. March 2011 to upload part of one of my most favourite songs EVER, performed admirably by the good ladies of Tamworth. OK you purists, the song was cut short at the end, but you may well not have noticed, had I not pointed it out, as we get confused as we get older!

The Ladies choir are fab and a credit to Tamworth. The ladies choir have over the years raised thousands upon thousands of pounds for good causes in Tamworth. The fund raising is an extra in my view. I think its the artistic merits of the ladies choir that deserves recognition. They bring a lot of joy and happiness to many people.

Always in great demand, many charities and worthy causes have seen benefit from the efforts of the choir. Tamworth Ladies’ Choir owes much to the choice of music, Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lloyd Webber usually figure prominently in concert repertoire. Whilst the serious side of music is never forgotten, variety is a strong factor in any performance. Individual talented choir members provide the scope and range to include solo items and amusing monologues.
With a busy schedule ahead, the future looks bright for Tamworth Ladies Choir’ the choir that sings with “Tender Loving Care”. The Choir’s CD ‘FROM THE HEART’ is on sale at the Tamworth Information Centre price £6.
